25 years I’ve listened to this album gem, since I discovered it. 15 years I’ve been doing this “head hunter” job. And I never wondered why Herbie Hancock chose this name for his mythical band and for the eponymous album released in 1973. So, I immediately took advantage of the end of my vacation and started looking for information.
But, nothing came out of these 3 days of search. I could read nowhere that Herbie Hancock and his band were involved in any kind of consulting or executives search business!
On the other hand, I was very astonished to discover the extraordinary context, rich of human experiences and teachings for Herbie Hancock, in which this gem was born. Pure management issues between vision, leadership, market and innovation.
I also discovered the real reasons for the choice of this name, “Headhunters”. Maybe more details in a next publication. 🙂
Regarding THIS “pretext-post” aim, you will have understood, it is to wish a good “hunting season” start to colleagues and friends head hunters, to my clients, as well as to all the candidates whom we are happy and proud to contribute to realization of projects in Africa and in the Middle East!
